What's the difference between this movie and Snow Patrol? Well, first of all the music in this movie is better ! (Sorry Snow Patrol !). Actually , this movie is meant for a younger audience but we are sure the members of Snow Patrol would have loved this movie when they were kids.
What's this about? Well, it's about a half hour. Ok, ok. It's actually a very entertaining movie about what goes on in winter when it snows and snows and snows. How do they get rid of all that snow and ice anyway? This is a movie for kids of all ages who like to see big trucks, graders, giant snowblowers, working hard at all sorts of locations . You'll see snow and ice removal at an airport, train yard, baseball stadium, city streets, and even explosives to blow up ice on a river. Now there's a job we'd all like to try! There is a wonderful musical background composed and arranged especially for this movie with styles ranging from rock and roll to classical to klezmer (yes, klezmer!). Those of you who live in climates without snow will be amazed to see a typical Canadian winter and how we survive. (Don't let the video scare you from visiting Canada. We do have lovely summers as well.) And those of you thinking of moving to Canada, will find Snowplows on Patrol indispensable in helping you prepare for our winter. The movie follows the story of two young children whose father accidentally shovels their new toy truck and plow onto the street after a snow storm and what happens to the toys when the snow is cleaned up by a city truck. Of course, there is a happy ending! The toys are found in the city snow dump the following summer and returned to them by a kindly but portly city worker.
What's this not about? This is not about violence, karate kicks to the head, or shooting people with guns. It's good wholesome fun that has been endorsed by several parenting groups. No animals were hurt in the making of this movie and no cars were deliberately rusted.
Who's it for? It's for kids of all ages who like seeing trucks, plows, airplanes, and trains hard at work. Oh yeah, and there's lots and lots of snow! Oh, by the way, did we mention the snow? Anyone wanting to visit Canada in the winter or move here will find Snowplows on Patrol an excellent information source on how to survive a typical Canadian winter.
